‘Thumbs up’ for the Baxter Statue

Kidderminster Town Council has completed the two year project to restore the Baxter Statue, situated on the ring road by St Mary’s Church.

After finishing the main refurbishment of the statue last year the outstanding issue of the missing thumb has now been remedied. The work was carried out by specialist contractor Adrian Melka who was employed to model and then replace the missing thumb.

Councillor Rose Bishop, Chairman of the Services Committee, said

“I am delighted we have completed this project. Richard Baxter is an important historical figure for the town and we can be proud of the Town Council promoting and protecting our heritage.”
