Mayor’s Sunday

On Sunday 1 July, the Mayor of Kidderminster, Councillor Martin Stooke held the annual ‘Mayor’s Sunday’ event that involved numerous civic dignitaries and guests to walk from the Town Hall to St Mary’s and All Saints Church for a civic service starting at 1030am. The service was conducted by Reverend Canon Rose Lawley.

The historic event that continues a long tradition for Kidderminster involved a civic procession of local mayors and town Councillors and a parade of uniformed organisations before and after the church service. This was accompanied by marching music from Kidderminster Boy’s Brigade.

The Mayor of Kidderminster, Martin Stooke said:

“Mayor’s Sunday is a traditional civic event that promotes celebration of the town’s civic heritage. I am proud to be representing the town in continuing a remarkable tradition.”
