Recognising the Service & Community of Kidderminster: Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire visit to Kidderminster
It was an honour to welcome Mrs Beatrice Grant, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire, and Deputy Lieutenant Charles Moyle to Kidderminster for a day of visits alongside the Mayor, Councillor Shazu Miah.
The visit, on Friday 25th September, offered an opportunity to showcase the town’s heritage, local enterprise and community spirit, while recognising the work of organisations that support and enrich life in Kidderminster.
The day included a tour of the Town Hall, where our visitors met Town Councillors and staff and visited the courtyard café.
The local visits also included Brockway Carpets, H.E.L.P. Kidderminster, Kidderminster & District Youth Trust (KDYT), Wyre Forest Talking Newspaper and Severn Valley Railway.
Throughout the visits, the Lord-Lieutenant, Deputy Lieutenant, and Mayor enjoyed meeting staff and volunteers, gaining a deeper understanding of their work, the challenges they face and their plans for the future.
The mayor was delighted to introduce the Lieutenancy to the people behind this work and to highlight the commitment and community spirit found across the town.
A sincere thank you to all the organisations for their warm welcome and for sharing their experiences, achievements and ambitions. We extend our thanks to the Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenant for their time and continued interest in Kidderminster and its community.
