Parks & Green Spaces
Kidderminster boasts an abundance of parks and green spaces, for the locals to enjoy and visit all year round. These areas provide diverse opportunities for people of various ages and abilities to relish nature and local wildlife in our historical town, whilst having the opportunity to partake in a wide range of community events throughout the year.

Broadwaters Mill Park
Broadwaters Mill Park is an area of 2.022 hectares located on the outskirts of Kidderminster. The park can be accessed via Wolverhampton Road and Norton Road.

Part of Broadwaters Park is the venue for the Broadwaters Annual Fair and Christmas Fair.

Baxter Gardens Park
Baxter Gardens is a small park area off the main A456 Birmingham Road, accessible from either Hurcott Road or Birmingham Road. The park is situated behind the Kidderminster Tennis Club facility.

Friends of Baxter Gardens
FOBG are a group of local residents who use the park and are interested in promoting the park for the benefit of the community. They meet bi-monthly on the second Monday in the month. Please visit the Friends of Baxter Park’s Facebook page for more information and pictures.
St. George’s Park
St George’s Park is located near the centre of Kidderminster.

Park Guidelines
Dogs
- We welcome dogs at all our parks; however, they must be kept out of all fenced/enclosed children’s play areas and water play areas. We do ask that you keep your dog under control and that you have appropriate means to clear up after them
- We have a zero tolerance policy for those who allow their dogs to foul and do not clean up after them. If you see someone allowing their dog to foul without tidying up, please report it to us
- Dogs that are out of control should be reported to the Police
Picnics and leisure activities
- Please dispose of your litter in the bins provided, or take it home with
you - Fires or Barbecues are prohibited. If you discover a fire, please call 999 and report to the Fire Brigade
- Shooting, trapping and any other form of hunting activity is prohibited. Legal
proceedings may be pursued against anyone engaged in such activities - You are not permitted to operate remote control vehicles on the parks
- Camera drones are not permitted on any of the parks
- Kite flying is welcome but please be aware of hazards such as overhead cables
- You are not permitted to erect any structure such as a tent, even for short periods, without prior consent
- If you wish to use a park for an event such as orienteering or children’s parties, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you
- Please do not pick flowers/plants (potentially illegal)
- Please do not disturb wildlife (potentially illegal)
Noise
- We ask that you keep noise levels to a minimum, particularly first thing in the morning
and after dusk - Musical amplification equipment is prohibited
- Fireworks, unless part of a pre-arranged and organised display, are not permitted
Health and Safety
- You are not permitted to construct rope swings or partake in tree climbing within our parks
- For your safety, we do not allow swimming
- You are not permitted to use the parks to sell or conduct commercial activities
- Sky/Chinese Lanterns and balloon releases are not permitted in any of our parks
Park Bookings and Use of Land
Our parks are available, by prior negotiation, for functions, events or private gatherings.
If you wish to use park land for one of these purposes, it is important to note the following:
- Toilet facilities are not provided as part of a booking. If required, it is the responsibility of the booking party to arrange these facilities through an external service provider. Details of any such arrangements must be provided to the Council before your booking is confirmed
- 50% of the hire fee is required to secure the booking along with a signed copy of the booking form. Full payment is required 14 days before the booking
Temporary Event Notices
You need a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) if you want to carry out a licensable activity on unlicensed premises, or if a particular licensable activity is not included in the terms of your existing licence. Licensable activities are:
- Selling alcohol
- Serving alcohol to members of a private club
- Providing entertainment, such as music, dancing or indoor sporting events
- Serving hot food or drink between 11pm and 5am
