Mayor’s Charity Concert: ‘The Armed Man’

A Mass for Peace Karl Jenkins’ powerful call for hope and reconciliation

On Saturday 21st March, Gig Caritas Chorus and Orchestra performed The Armed Man at Kidderminster Town Hall, bringing to life the dramatic and emotional piece — one that combines texts from different cultures and faiths.

The Mayor said “The Armed Man was a very engrossing and moving performance, and it took you through emotions of certainty, fear, grief, and remembrance; and then on to hope, compassion and reconciliation.”

The evening had raised just over £2,000! With all proceedings going to the Mayoral charities: Kidderminster Foodbank, Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and Kidderminster & District Youth Trust.

A huge thank you to Gig Caritas, Keith Horsfall, the conductor and to all those who attended, supported the event and donated generously.
